SideQuest House is an online art and lifestyle store based in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains how we handle information when you browse sidequesthouse.com, place an order, leave a review or contact us. For privacy questions or requests, email support@sidequesthouse.com.
Information we collect
When you order, we collect the details needed to process it, such as your name, billing and delivery addresses, email address, optional phone number, products selected, order notes and payment status. Please do not include sensitive information in an order note or contact message.
Contact forms collect your name, email address, enquiry topic, message and any order number you provide. Reviews may include your review text, rating and the public name you submit. If you use an account, we keep the account and address details needed to provide it.
Our website and hosting services also receive technical information, including IP addresses, browser and device information, request times and security logs. Cookies and similar technologies help keep the basket working, maintain login sessions and understand website use.
How we use information
We use information to accept and fulfil orders, provide delivery updates, answer enquiries, resolve returns or payment disputes, maintain business records, protect the store against misuse and improve our products and website. We do not add you to a marketing mailing list simply because you buy something or ask a question.
Services that help us run the store
Hosting and store software providers help us operate the website. We share the order and delivery details needed for fulfilment with our print partner and delivery carriers. Those services may process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where local laws may permit access by authorities.
When card payments are offered through Stripe, payment details are handled by Stripe. We receive payment status and the transaction information needed to administer the order, rather than your full card number or card security code. We use Google Analytics through Google Site Kit to understand visits and how people use the store. Analytics may receive page interactions, device and browser details, identifiers and approximate location. Google processes that information under its Privacy Policy. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, protect rights or resolve a dispute. We do not sell customer contact details to mailing-list brokers.
Cookies and your choices
Essential cookies support functions such as your basket, checkout, account login and security. Analytics cookies help measure site use. You can manage or delete cookies in your browser; blocking essential cookies may prevent checkout or login from working. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Reviews and public content
A review and its public display name may be visible to other visitors. Please keep addresses, phone numbers, order numbers and other private information out of reviews. Contact our support email directly for help with an order.
Retention and security
We retain order, payment-status and support records for the purposes described here, including fulfilling orders, handling claims and meeting record-keeping obligations. Records are not automatically removed immediately after an order is completed. Retention depends on the type of record and any legal or dispute-related need to keep it.
We use access controls and reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Please keep account credentials private and contact us if you believe your account has been misused.
Access, correction and deletion requests
You can ask us to provide access to, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or raise a concern about its use, by emailing support@sidequesthouse.com. We may need to verify that the request is yours. Some information must be retained for legal, security, transaction or dispute-resolution purposes. We will explain any applicable limits when responding.
Children and policy changes
The store is intended for customers able to enter into a purchase agreement. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. If a child has provided information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and address it.
